摘要: A substantial proportion of the wild lion-tailed macaque population occurs in Karnataka State, India. In this paper, problems protecting macaques and their habitats are discussed. Fairly large portions habitat remain available. These free large-scale shrinkage area, but experiencing deterioration quality due to pressures from enclaves human settlements, developmental projects, timber/minor forest produce extraction. Illegal hunting is another threat population. pragmatic, cost-effective approach conservation rain habitats, centered around protection nature reserves, with as a flagship species, opposed strategy based on captive propagation, advocated.
