Heat production and energy balance in nanoscale engines driven by time-dependent fields

摘要: We present a formalism to study the heat transport and power developed by local driving fields on quantum system coupled macroscopic reservoirs. show that, quite generally, two important mechanisms can take place: (i) directed between reservoirs induced ac potentials, (ii) at slow driving, oscillating out of phase forces perform work against each other, while energy dissipated into is negligible.
