摘要: Forty-seven cases of malignant mixed tumor (MMT) arising in major and minor salivary glands are presented. By definition, all these lesions contained both a benign (BMT) as well neoplasm, usually poorly differentiated carcinoma. In some cases, the carcinoma developed previously untreated gland mass which was known to have been present for many years, others evolved recurrent resected BMT still originated undetected BMT. Adverse prognostic factors included: carcinomatous involvement resection lines, perineural invasion, metastases lymph nodes, origin gland. Lesions palate had better prognosis compared tumors. Some patients died locally uncontrollable because metastatic disease. Local recurrences MMT were seen frequently; 18 (38%) total 32 local recurrences. Of followed five years or more, seven (35%) tumor, 11 (55%) no evidence disease, two (10%) other causes. Prolonged follow-up is required death from may be following diagnosis MMT. Recommendations therapy made. Criteria differentiating cylindromatous discussed.
