Study on home‐prepared weaning foods for consumption in Bangladesh, with special reference to protein quality

摘要: Each mix met approximately 1/3 of the energy requirement a one‐year‐child, which measure was used as norm. A daily feeding plan comprising 200 ml breast milk and three servings weaning mixes during day supplied FAO/WHO recommended intakes for energy, protein six other nutrients—except calcium where almost 85 percent met. The based on rice pulses had percentage content 10–12 percent, calculated net utilization value 66–75 percent. corresponding values with wheat‐pulse were 12–14 56–62 respectively. Ten formulated basis commonly locally available foods vegetable origin consumption in Bangladesh. Rice wheat staples used; bengalgram, blackgram, lentil, mungbean khesari (Lathyrus sativus) chosen ingredients.
