摘要: Dystonias involving masticatory muscles -A retrospective analysisBackround: In this study we report about experiences with clinical aspects of oromandibular dystonias (OMD) respectively Meige-Syndrome regarding our therapy modalities. We retrospectively analysed datas OMD-patients in regard etiological and characteristics as well applied treatment modalities botulinum toxin A injections (BTX-A) the resulting effects. Material methods: 24 patients OMD or Meige-Syndrom that were treated ENT-Department University Gottingen between 1998 2010. Besides demographic evaluation patient population also results injection based on a subjective determined effect-Score, duration side Results: There was 4:1 female preponderance (80% woman, 20% men). 14 identified Meige-Syndrome, only 10 diagnosed to have an isolated OMD.
