摘要: Osteoid osteoma (OO) is a painful benign bone tumor of the young that widely treated by percutaneous thermal ablation (PTA) with success rates close to 100 %. Nevertheless, some patients have recurrences. We reviewed literature understand whether these are true recurrences or incomplete treatments; analyze safety and efficacy during long-term follow-up in extremely large cohort patients; detail best-practice suggestions from largest clinical trials as well report their complications; recommend standards for future reporting. This study followed the Cochrane’s guidelines for Systematic Reviews Interventions. Inclusion criteria were follows: (1) prospective retrospective PTA OO under computed tomography (CT) guidance; (2) CT magnetic resonance diagnosis; (3) radiofrequency interstitial laser technique; (4) English language; (5) population <10 (6) ≥12 months; (7) original research. Risk bias was assessed modified Newcastle–Ottawa Scale. Two hundred fourteen articles initially found. After applying mentioned previously, 27 concerning 1,772 chosen inclusion. No exclusions made due risk bias. The investigators proved superiority compared other techniques. In 5 % patients, however, technique failed, researchers did not offer detailed exhaustive explanations. Future should consider reporting essential procedure details findings allow meta-analysis. provide both recommended prevention recurrence.
