摘要: In European research and innovation policy, Responsible Research Innovation (RRI) Open Science (OS) encompass two co-existing sets of ambitions concerning systemic change in the practice innovation. This paper is an exploratory attempt to uncover synergies differences between RRI OS, by interrogating what motivates their respective transformative agendas. We offer storylines that account for specific contexts dynamics from which OS have emerged, turn entrance points further unpacking ‘opening up’ society means with respect agendas are implicit compare regarding ‘how’ opening up light ‘why’ explore common areas emphasis both RRI. argue while align mission-oriented narratives around grand societal challenges, tends emphasize efficiency technical optimisation over RRI’s on normative concerns democracy deficits, thus contrast relative legitimate doable outcomes versus desirable outcomes. our conclusion, we reflect future outlook OS’ co-existence uptake, transformation might mean science-society scholars scholarship.
