摘要: Representative data on the extent of endemicity, burden and risk human toxoplasmosis are scarce. We assessed prevalence determinants seropositivity Toxoplasma gondii among adult participants a nationwide representative cross-sectional survey in Germany. Sera collected from cohort adults (age 18–79; n = 6,663) Germany were tested for anti-T. IgG antibodies. Interview-derived used to evaluate associated factors. Multivariable logistic regression was applied using sampling weights accounting design cluster effects. Seroprevalence increased 20% (95%-CI:17–23%) 18–29 age group 77% (95%-CI:73–81%) 70–79 group. Male gender, keeping cats BMI ≥30 independent factors seropositivity, while being vegetarian high socio-economic status negatively associated. Based these data, we estimate 1.1% 1.3% women aged 18–49 seroconvert each year. This implies 6,393 seroconversions annually during pregnancies. conclude that T. infection is highly prevalent eating habits (consuming raw meat) appear be epidemiological relevance. High numbers pregnancies pose substantial risks unborn children. Efforts raise awareness public health programs targeting transmission control therefore strongly advocated.
