摘要: Ten subjects ranging in age from 21 to 60 years with no history of bronchopulmonary disease had the mucosa nasal and nasopharyngeal area exposed silica particles for 150 seconds. Significant increases airway resistance, as measured by body plethysmography, were noted all 10 subjects. Prior injection atropine pharmacologic dose prevented increase resistance after a similar exposure. The results suggest that stimulation receptor sites confined nose nasopharynx can initiate an tracheobronchial resistance. most likely mechanism is neural via reflex pathways. Because irritant are trapped nose, studies also bronchospasm changes be initiated reflexes originating nose.
