摘要: Salinization of coastal aquifer systems constitutes a major threat for groundwater. Especially areas with high population density due to increasing tourist activity may face severe problems. In this study, the GALDIT method was applied in north side Rhodes Island, Greece, order assess groundwater vulnerability seawater intrusion. Hydrogeological data were elaborated geographical information (GIS), and appropriate thematic maps produced. The final map obtained from combination using overlying techniques. Based on application method, zone up 1000 m shore is characterized by medium vulnerability, while characterizes eastern part study area. Overexploitation aquifer, intense touristic Ialysos area, main reason salinization intrusion Consequently, planning proper management systematic monitoring reserves are utmost importance solve existing problems prevent future issues salinization.
