New evidence for core excitation in Au197

摘要: Observations on Au/sup 197/ nuclear spectra are discussed. A level having J = 3/2/sup +/ and one 7/2/sup in 197/, absent Tl/ sup a small value of mu (1/2/sup +/) as compared with Tl/sup 203/ 205/ were observed. coreexcitation model explains these results. The 79th proton goes into the d/sub 3/2, orbit, 81st, s/sub 1/2 orbit. lowest positive parity excited states result from coupling this odd nucleon to 2/sup state core; leads quadruplet 1/2/sup +/, 5/2/sup for 79 protons doublet 81 protons.
