摘要: APOLLON laser facility was initiated by Nobel Laureat Gerard Mourou to become one of the few European 10 PW facilities. End 2018, reached 1 peak power. Experiments at this power are under preparation with an expected start during spring 2019 or early summer. In parallel, today is upgrade for reaching in years intermediate step around 5 dedicated development experiments high will be open external users on 2020 and very likely 2021 several PW. APOLLON has two experimental areas which X-ray sources developed. The so-called "Long focal length area" (LFA) electron acceleration related emission. room may accommodate up 9m. designed a way allows single double stage energies 10's GeV. emission from betatron used as diagnostic processes but also developed independently aiming achieving energetic well-collimated beam. experiment been set heads-on electron-laser collision Compton scattering experiments. The second target area called "Short Focal area", aims intensities possible ion acceleration, non-linear QED tests generation through harmonic solid. ranging keV foreseen, lower energy.
