摘要: This chapter provides an overview of anxiety disorders in women and systematically explores possible explanations for the female preponderance. Anxiety is a ubiquitous human emotion. Its expression can range from normal reaction to acutely threatening stimulus attack with multiple physical sensations fear impending doom response unknown stimulus. There are two properties that underlie definitions anxiety. It generally unpleasant future-oriented. distinguished it either has no discernible source danger or emotion disproportionate consistent evidence have higher rates symptoms than men across age span. None artifactual explanations, including sampling, demographic, social risk factors, appear convincingly explain preponderance women.
