摘要: Groundwater in arid/semiarid regions plays crucial roles providing drinking water supply, supporting irrigated agriculture, and sustaining important native terrestrial ecosystems. depth controls availability to vegetation is essential for conserving groundwater-dependent Environmental groundwater can be defined as a mean or range of depths, satisfying the growth natural that not under stress, either due lack anoxia soil salinization. Five methodologies have been reported estimate environmental depth: direct ones rely on response functions relate condition, e.g., physiological parameters, appearance frequency, community structure, remotely sensed physical indexes, changes depth; indirect one estimates based threshold moisture content. To fill knowledge gap unique recognized methodology, conceptual framework was proposed, which involves initial estimation (data collection, assessment, estimation) feedback adjustment (implementation modification). A key component quantify linkage between ecological conditions geohydrological features. This review may provide references resources management, conservation, sustainable development regions.
