摘要: Unilateral pneumonectomy in rats causes compensatory growth of the remaining lung. During this growth, there are large increases cell numbers and rates collagen non-collagen protein production. We examined possible mechanisms by which these changes might occur. Assessment effect bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid on fibroblasts vitro demonstrated presence stimulatory activity for fibroblast replication control animals. This was greatly increased two six days postpneumonectomy (115 +/- 26% 75 18% above values, respectively), but had returned to normal 14 days. Preliminary characterization suggests that is heat labile consists at least moieties with apparent molecular weights 5-15 kD 70-220 kD. The partially blocked antibodies insulin-like factor-1 (IGF-1), levels IGF-1 were about 100% (p less than 0.001) after compared values. Examination BAL cells an early influx leucocytes into lung pneumonectomized rats. At days, 25% lavageable neutrophils, macrophages predominant type all times. extravascular albumin space 65% 0.01), pneumonectomy. circulatory proteins potential sources mitogenic observed
