摘要: Recent events and trends in international relations are making it necessary for scientists to design their projects ways that can integrate disciplinary perspectives learn how communicate results governance processes. Some examples of settings which such skills would be needed the debates about political legal relevance “Anthropocene” as a concept, establishment implementation Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity Ecosystem Services (IPBES), recent International Court Justice’s decision what constitutes “scientific purpose” under Whaling Convention, ongoing efforts regulate deep seabed mining activities. These reveal an acceleration growing environmental, distributional, geostrategic conflicts over ocean resources changing character marine research. For some time now sciences have recognized interdependence social ecological systems cumulative effects multiple environmental pressures. In addition, we observe relationship between science policymaking is rapidly process refer here internationalization knowledge, scientific research activities progressively being internationally contested. Altogether these developments constitute extrinsic constraints render transcending boundaries conditio sine qua non future Better comprehension implications may help us understand science’s functioning near future, particularly disciplines involved.
