摘要: We discuss recent developments in the design of molecules for applications third-order nonlinear optics with emphasis on all-optical signal processing and two-photon absorption. especially concentrate functional substitution patterns conjugation length expansion. show that low molecular symmetry regard to path delocalized electrons was found be a good guideline towards linearly conjugated large second-order hyperpolarizabilities γ. this is also valid two-dimensionally systems observed effects can explained by electronic wavefunctions. present scaling laws critical lengths rod-like over one-dimensional exponent tends constant various polymers transparency range values presented here are similar magnitude organic materials systems. Finally, we different figures merit relevant processing.
