Flow behavior of SiC particles as tracer material during the fabrication of MMCs by friction stir processing

摘要: Friction stir processing is a novel technique for metal matrix composites fabrication. During the friction process, flow behavior of reinforced particles and base are very important. Very little known about particle during fabrication MMCs by processing, which quite different from welding or without particles. The blocked continuous metal, significantly affecting behavior. In this study, SiC were placed in positions before processing. relationship between initial final distribution was obtained. When put middle layer plate rotation direction tool opposite to screw pin (counter-clockwise), area fairly large uniform. This optimized position making MMC’s FSP. Bulk achieved placing material position. MMC showed uniform microstructure excellent tensile properties.
