Driving factors and assessment of changes in the use of arable land in Tanzania

摘要: Abstract Analysis of land use and cover change (LULCC) offers useful results for the determination implementation management policies. In this study, in amount arable Tanzania its main determinants were identified, suggestions agricultural policy put forward. For purpose, datasets related to spatial, biophysical, demographic, socio-economic variables that can affect prepared analysed with appropriate econometric models. The coefficients established models estimated by Engle-Granger method according forecast; increase such as gross domestic product (GDP), quantity exported goods, annual population growth per capita cause a positive effect total compared an other areas residential settlement areas, infrastructure while presence forested has negative on land. On hand, Granger causality test, conducted analyse relationships among GDP, growth, lands have determined there is growth. According research, demographic factors been greater influence Tanzania. context, it possible contribute sustainability resources developing non-agricultural activities opportunities reducing pressure land, well efforts towards ownership tenure systems rural urban fringe premises.
