摘要: Abstract In the traditional Indian system of medicine, Ayurveda , several spices and herbs are claimed to possess medicinal properties, such as being antithrombotic, antiatherosclerotic, hypolipidemic, anti-inflammatory etc. Earlier we have reported that extracts from behave antiaggregatory agents inhibit eicosanoid synthesis. Similar studies with prepared cumin ( Cuminum cyminum ) turmeric Curcuma longa were undertaken. Ethereal extract both inhibited arachidonate-induced platelet aggregation. Extracts these thromboxane B 2 production exogenous 14 C) arachidonic acid (AA) in washed platelets; a simultaneous increase formation lipoxygenase-derived products was observed. Less T×B produced blood samples treated when they allowed clot. Turmeric incorporation C)AA into phospholipids deacylation AA-labelled on stimulation calcium ionophore A23187. Cumin devoid effects. two reduced C)T×B platelets challenged The property may, part, be explained by its effect biosynthesis.
