摘要: Scholars participate in online social networks for professional purposes. In such networks, learning takes the form of participation and identity formation through engagement contribution to networked practices. While current literature describes possible benefits participation, empirical research on scholars' use educational technology is negligible. The purpose this paper understand naturalistic practices general, Twitter particular. Tweets from 45 scholars were analysed qualitatively arrive at dominant themes describing network practice. Findings indicate that participating (1) shared information, resources, media relating their practice; (2) information about classroom students; (3) requested assistance offered suggestions others; (4) engaged commentary; (5) digital impression management; (6) sought make connections with (7) highlighted other than Twitter. These findings assist field understanding emerging practice scholarly networks. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
