Anesthesia for a patient with xeroderma pigmentosum

摘要: A 23-year-old man with xeroderma pigmentosum underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. He experienced transient worsening of the neurological symptom after anesthesia volatile agents in previous surgery. Because anesthetics potentially cause genotoxic effects patients pigmentosum, this time we chose total ir.travenous (TIVA). The intraoperative management and post-operative course were uneventful time. From these two experiences one patient, suggest that TIVA is more appropriate than as a method for general patients. Minimum usage muscle relaxants under monitoring neuromuscular blockade also recommended, since are sensitive to due neuronal dysfunction
