摘要: Sex determination in mammals is strongly linked to sex chromosomes. In most cases, females possess two copies of X chromosome while males have one and Y chromosome. It assumed that these chromosomes originated from a pair homologous autosomes, which diverged when recombination between them was suppressed. However, it still debated why the stopped recombining how this process spread out over part To study problem, we developed simulation model, rate can freely evolve. We found suppression spontaneous proceeds very quickly during evolution population, leads degeneration males. Interestingly, happens only mating pairs are unfaithful. This evolutionary strategy purifies defective alleles larger number than population. consequence, reproductive potential whole population increases. Our results imply both may be associated with favoured polygamous populations faithless partners.
