A Multifaceted Approach to Music Similarity

摘要: Previous work has explored the concept of music similarity measures and a variety methods have been proposed for calculating such measures. This paper describes system which attempts to model compare some more musically salient features set audio signals. A timbre rhythm are implemented directly from previous work, song structure is developed. The different models weighted combined provide an overall measure. tested on small popular files spanning eleven genres. tuned estimate genre boundaries using multidimensional scaling ‐ technique that allows quick visualization data. An “automatic DJ” application, generates playlists based models, serves as subjective evaluation system.
