摘要: Foley urinary catheters were coated by chlorhexidine-loaded micelles and nanospheres. In our prior study, the nanocoating of catheter was investigated for chlorhexidine-release degradation, antibacterial evaluation, cytotoxicity assessment. These studies presented 1 month property deposited via layers this we evaluated biocompatibility these catheters, including hemocompatibility, skin irritation, sensitization, stability during age catheter. Results demonstrated that slight hemolysis, whereas irritation on rabbit sensitization Dunkin Hartley guinea pig showed no signs dermal toxicity, which indicated inflammation, redness, swelling did not occur. Moreover, storage change in chlorhexidine peaks high performance liquid chromatography. Information from supports their use as indwelling devices to prevent tract infections.
