摘要: Abstract Objective This study is aimed at assembling, through a systematic review and meta-analysis, scientific evidence related to the effects of mandibular setback (MdS) surgery bimaxillary for correction Class III malocclusion on cross-sectional area (CSA) volume upper airway as assessed using CT. Methods An electronic search was conducted Cochrane Library, EMBASE, PubMed, Scopus Web Science up June 20, 2016. The inclusion criteria were prospective or retrospective studies, with aim comparing impact space orthognathic treatment skeletal class malocclusion. methodological index non-randomized studies (MINORS) chosen evaluation instrument Revman5.3 used meta-analysis. Results A total 1213 retrieved, which only 18 met eligibility criteria. results meta-analysis showed that mean decrease in after MdS 3.24 cm 3 [95%CI (−5.25,-1.23), p = 0.85]; minimum CSA combined maxillary advancement (MdS + MxA) 27.66 mm 2 (−52.81,−2.51), p = 0.51], but there no significant (mean 0.86 cm ); comparison between MdS + MxA isolated differences posterior nasal spine plane (PNS) epiglottis (EP); statistically nasopharynx (P  Conclusion this suggest promotes less than alone
