摘要: Abstract Agriculture production contributes to global warming directly via the release of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and nitrous oxide emissions, indirectly through consumption inputs such as fertilizer, fuel herbicides. We investigated if including a grain legume (Lupinus angustifolius) in cropping rotation, and/or applying agricultural lime increase pH an acidic soil, decreased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from wheat semi-arid environment by conducting streamlined life cycle assessment analysis that utilized situ GHG emission measurements, rather than international default values. also assessed economic viability each mitigation strategy. Incorporating two year rotation 56% on per hectare basis, 35% tonne primarily lowering nitrogen fertilizer inputs. However, large incentive ($93 equivalents reduced) was required for inclusion legumes be financially attractive. Applying profitable but increased varying amounts depending upon whether assumed dissolve over one, five or 10 years. recommend further investigating impact liming both CO2 non-CO2 accurately account its effect production.
