摘要: Abstract The Chilean bottled water market has experienced continuous growth since 2000, surpassing 500 million liters sold in 2015. Generally, consumers tend to associate the consumption of with a healthy lifestyle, but current law does not require product be labelled chemical composition, thus preventing from making informed choices. Our study focuses on determining quality ten brands available for sale Santiago, Chile. All analyzed was carbonated and plastic containers 1.5 L size when closest this available. Thirty-two elements were analyzed, including minor trace elements, data have been evaluated respect limits established by international regulatory agencies. results indicate that generally complies water. However, 30% samples exceed values arsenic (As) permitted drinking regulations, World Health Organization United States Environmental Protection Agency. In 40% samples, NO3 content is higher than groundwater suggesting source superficial. purified contain minimal amounts dissolved do comply all parameters (e.g., pH) regulations. highlights there an inconsistency between norms regulate those Some waters regulations paradoxically these should consumed humans. risk assessment calculations As ingestion show 1 L/day pose human health.
