Probing the Photonic Properties of a Cholesteric Elastomer under Biaxial Stress

摘要: We have investigated the photonic properties of a free-standing cholesteric elastomer film under biaxial mechanical load. The sample, which was obtained by UV cross-linking side- chain polymer, shows substantially improved optical compared to elastomers anisotropic deswelling method. selective reflection circularly polarized light and modified spontaneous emission dispersed fluorescent guest molecules show that order is well preserved in cross-linked film. Application stress leads shift stop band shorter wavelengths due contraction helix; change pitch affine thickness. Pulsed excitation gives rise edge laser emission, mechanically tunable wavelength range almost 100 nm. lasing performance found be comparable conventional systems.
