摘要: The purpose of this paper is to describe the quantity and quality oral hygiene content in a representative sample before-licensure nursing fundamentals textbooks. Seven textbooks were examined. Quantity was operationalized as actual page count percentage devoted health hygiene. Quality congruency with best mouth care practices. Best practices included evidence-based consensus-based published primarily by American Dental Association supported both research review articles specific dental care. Content averaged 0.6%. Although highly variable, nearly every textbook contained some erroneous or outdated information. most common areas for inaccuracy use foam sponges dentate persons instead soft toothbrushes improper denture removal.
