摘要: Geometric modelling of physical solid objects is rapidly becoming a well-established interdisciplinary field, whose importance for robotics and automation widely acknowledged both in academia industry. The scientific literature the field has increased dramatically, first two textbooks that address have been published [Mortenson 1985, Mantyla 1988], systems offered by many vendors are being used industrially increasing numbers, market projections technology bright [Brown 1986, Marks 1986]. fundamental concepts modelling, as well state art early 1980s described [Requicha & Voelcker 1982, 1983]. present paper assesses progress its applications over last five years. citations below meant to be representative rather than exhaustive.
