Power control for cooking appliance with transient operating modes

摘要: A power control system for a heating element in cooking appliance having plurality of possible settings which provides transient Fast-Heat and Fast-Cool operating modes initiated response to user-initiated changes higher or lower settings, respectively, reduce the required temperature reach associated with new setting. Approximate information is provided by an energy counter incremented at rate approximately proportional increase when energized level being implemented. This used prevent initiation mode if change setting made such that operation likely overshoot desired temperature.
