Inheritance of Increased Oleic Acid Concentration in High-Erucic Acid Ethiopian Mustard

摘要: In comparison with canola oil, zero-erucic acid Ethiopian mustard (Brassica carinata A. Braun) oil is characterized by a low concentration of the monounsaturated oleic and high concentrations polyunsaturated linoleic linolenic acid. Because oxidative stability oils rich in fatty acids, increase needed. Increased currently available only erucic backgrounds. The objective present research was to study inheritance increased high-erucic mutant N2-3591. reciprocally crossed line C-101, standard composition C18 acids. Partial maternal cytoplasmic effects for were observed analysis F1 seeds plants, respectively, from reciprocal crosses. Standard C-101 partially dominant over Oleic F2 segregated following 3:1 (standard-intermediate: increased) ratio, suggesting monogenic inheritance. This confirmed BC1 N2-3591, which 1:1 (intermediate: ratio. separation intermediate classes not possible, probably because partial dominance concentration. levels N2-3591 will facilitate transfer this trait germplasm.
