摘要: Abstract : Many DoD installations are subject to environmental regulations that require them monitor opacity using EPA Reference Method 9, which relies on certified human observers. Maintaining human-observer certification is expensive because each observer must attend a course twice annually. Furthermore, these measurements potential inaccuracies and lack of reproducibility. Thus, could benefit from system generates accurate reproducible measurements. Some methods currently exist for determining digitally, they perform well under sunny, cloudless conditions or with the use an artificial physical background. This project developed algorithm determine stacks challenging background conditions, such as trees. The based principles light attenuation uses stereo approach, in user takes two pictures: one plume behind plume. method performed black plumes white (opacity 85%).
