摘要: DNA molecules can be concentrated in a narrow region of nanochannel when driven electrokinetically submillimolar salt solutions. Transport experiments and theoretical modeling reveal the interplay electrophoresis, electro-osmosis, unique statistical properties confined polymers that lead to aggregation. A finite conductance through bulk device also plays crucial role by influencing electric fields nanochannel. We build on this understanding demonstrating how nanofluidic with integrated electrodes preconcentrate at selected locations physiological concentrations are relevant lab-on-a-chip applications.
