摘要: Comparison of North and South American glaciations is complicated because incomplete records, lack age estimates at high resolutions, the determination what synchronous non synchronous, influence local climate influences. The two continents are compared by placing their closest equivalents into cold periods determined marine oxygen isotope records then comparing them to Chinese loess/paleosol record ( Chap. 5). earlier glaciations, from about Late Miocene–Early Pliocene (Marine Isotope Stage, MIS >T2) Early Pleistocene/Early Matuyama (MIS 76) show less equivalence than later Matuyama/Olduvai 70) Pleistocene 2) where several equivalent can be recognized.
