摘要: Down syndrome (DS) is a genetic disorder caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21 (triso‐ my 21), with incidence in 1 700 live births. The third causes series physical, biological and behavioural characteristics that are syndrome-specific including in‐ tellectual disability, heart defects, problems the endocrine immune system other medical conditions (Epstein et al., 1991). Moreover, there established evidence for lan‐ guage difficulties people DS particularly expressive vocabulary grammar. Re‐ search on language has documented specific pattern cerebral lateralization commonly characterizes these individuals, unique to compared typi‐ cally developing individuals intellectual disability (ID) non-DS. This realization triggered interest neuropsychologists investigate atypical hemi‐ spheric dominance DS.
