摘要: Phylogenetic information from ribosomal RNA genes directly amplified the environment changed our view of biosphere, revealing an extraordinary diversity previously undetected prokaryotic lineages. Using marine picoplankton, several new groups bacteria and archaea have been identified, some which are abundant2,3,4. Little is known, however, about smallest planktonic eukaryotes, available in general concerns phytoplankton euphotic region. Here we recover eukaryotes size fraction 0.2–5 µm aphotic zone (250–3,000 m deep) Antarctic polar front. The most diverse relatively abundant were two alveolate sequences, related to dinoflagellates that found at all studied depths. These may be important components microbial community deep ocean. Their phylogenetic position suggests a radiation early evolution alveolates.
