摘要: We quantitatively analyze the area-age distribution of sedimentary, extrusive volcanic, and endogenous (plutonic and/or metamorphic) bedrock on basis data from most recent digital Geological Map World at a scale 1:25,000,000. The spatial resolution averages 13,905 km2 per polygon. Comparison certain regions world, previously analyzed higher resolution, with low-resolution world reveals general consistency in areal exposure major rock types as well minor systematic bias toward older average ages global set. Application to 19 large-scale drainage three large, internally drained considerable regional variability Earth's geology that is consistent dominant geotectonic setting respective region.
