摘要: Abstract This article describes field trials of 3 electronic furniture prototypes designed to encourage ludic engagement in the home. The Drift Table shows slowly scrolling aerial photography controlled by weight objects on its surface. History Tablecloth creates growing “halos” around things left it. Key measures force with which people put it and tilts a picture frame indicate their mood. pieces were loaned different households for periods 1 months. Because they user appropriation, hypothesis-testing paradigm is inappropriate evaluating success. focus instead was gathering rich, multilayered accounts people's experience through ethnographic observations documentary videos. results helped assess particular designs, draw lessons design more generally, reflect methods open-ended designs.
