Physical representations of the geomagnetic field

摘要: The familiar Gaussian analysis of the geomagnetic field by method spherical harmonics clearly indicates that predominant portion so-called permanent magnetism Earth is due to internal causes. One striking results this dominance first degree. These first-degree may be physically represented a dipole at center with its south-seeking end directed toward point in latitude 78°5 north, longitude 291°2 east.
