摘要: The effect of ondansetron, a 5-HT3 antagonist, in preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting was investigated randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study 84 patients undergoing gynecologic operation receiving the same general anesthetic. received premedication with either 16 mg oral or matching placebo. medication given postoperatively 8 h after first dose. During hour recovery from anesthesia, frequencies were 52% 40%, respectively, placebos. In ondansetron group developed 17% 12%, values significantly different those placebos (P less than 0.005). Similar differences observed throughout entire 24-h period recovery, incidence being 67% 60%, placebo 29% 26% treatment group. Ondansetron appears to be promising antiemetic for prevention vomiting.
