摘要: High-K states played a key part in the discovery and understanding of deformed nuclei. An example is given recent use high-K as signature axially-symmetric prolate deformation nucleus which predicted to show co-existence between spherical, oblate shapes. When associated bands can be identified, also used probe pairing, its modifiication rotational motion. New results 178W imply that underlying rigid moment-of-inertia revealed when orbits are blocked form multi-quasiparticle substantially less than "classical" rigid-body value. The corollary static pairing quenched only few blocked. Recent measurements g-factors related 179W allow extraction gR values whose behaviour function seniority agrees with this suggestion.
