INSTABILITIES OF MASSIVE SCALAR PERTURBATIONS OF A ROTATING BLACK HOLE

摘要: We study the stability of a massive scalar field in exterior metric rotating Kerr black hole. An argument based on energy conversation shows, under some strong technical assumptions, that unstable normal modes exist. These can be interpreted as wave packets bound, superradiant orbits. A JWKB estimate fastest growth rate gives 10/sup -7/M/sup -1/ exp(--1.84M..mu..) case M..mu..>> 1, where M is mass hole and psi field. The existence has significant implications for quantum particle creation by holes, which we attempt to assess.
