摘要: This paper proposes a new research perspective on resistance to information systems (IS) change. Drawing upon power lens and complementing it with the organizational literature resistance, we develop an integrative framework that conceptualizes at three levels: 1) non-compliance behaviors, 2) meanings norms resisters contest enact, 3) technical artifacts bring into their acts. By mapping existing IS onto our framework, identify bias of towards refusal view resistance. That is, has been mainly concerned as behavior –i.e. system, changes in working practices, loss status quo– by which attempt neutralize actions from proponents Yet enables us depict not only but also generative. Whilst focus pays attention acts aim block outcomes intended change, analysis generative potential considers two additional aspects. First, involves looking how challenge assign change assumptions about technology, goals role actors process. Second, entails analyzing (human) become intertwined those socio-technical assemblages instigate disciplinary effects In other words, studying viewing socio-material accomplishment may transform established order through structural radical changes.
