摘要: Diabetes mellitus, especially type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), has become a significant public health burden. Rhizoma coptidis (RC), known as Huang Lian, is widely used for treating in China. The bioactive compounds of RC, alkaloids, have the potential to suppress T2DM-induced lesions, including diabetic vascular dysfunction, heart disease, hyperlipidemia, nephropathy, encephalopathy, osteopathy, enteropathy, and retinopathy. This review summarizes effects RC its on T2DM complications. Less research been conducted non-alkaloid fractions which may exert synergistic action with alkaloids. Moreover, we summarized pharmacokinetic properties structure-activity relationships reference extant literature showed clearly that therapeutic effect T2DM.
