Organisational formal controls, group norms and workplace deviance: The moderating role of self-regulatory efficacy

摘要: Drawing upon self-efficacy theory, organisational control and social learning this study examined the role of self-regulatory efficacy in buffering the effects organizational formal perceived workgroup norms on deviant workplace behaviour. A total 265 academics from universities located northwest geopolitical zone Nigeria participated study. Results supported hypothesized direct effects In addition, moderated these relationships. Specifically, there was a stronger negative relationship between behavioural interpersonal deviance for individuals with high as opposed to low levels efficacy.
