摘要: We initiated this study to evaluate the suitability for therapeutic use in transplantation of tissues obtained from human abortuses. have developed protocols collection, handling and preservation hepatic stem cells electively aborted embryos methods assessment so derived processed. In paper we present our findings regarding screening potential donors, acquisition fetal tissues, potentially infectious contaminants. assess tissue donors according current standards used commonly transplanted (e.g., bone grafts, skin grafts heart valves) data real availability elective abortion procedures that would meet those standard banking criteria. specifically evaluated donor's willingness provide a blood sample testing, conducted detailed interview similar typical organ assessed type incidence contamination collected tissues. find although many women are willing consent transplantation, attrition various reasons results few organs ultimately realistically available transplantation. Typical include: unwillingness drawn or tested, positive serology results, social/medical high risk factors transmissible disease, no identifiable available, unacceptable microbial contamination. Thus, it might seem due numbers abortions performed annually, there be substantial suitable only small proportion truly
