摘要: Since the first national park was created at Yellowstone in USA 1872, over 8500 protected areas have been established worldwide. Virtually all countries seen wisdom of protecting outstanding importance to society, and such sites now cover 5% Earth's land surface. However, many these exist only on paper, not ground. Most are suffering from a combination threats, including pollution, over-exploitation, encroachment, poaching, others. In period growing demands resources shrinking government budgets, new approaches required ensure that can continue make their contributions society. First foremost, must be designed managed order provide tangible intangible benefits This will involve integrating into larger planning management frameworks, linking biodiversity climate change, promoting greater financial support for areas, expanding international cooperation finance, development areas.
