摘要: Virions are the vehicle for cell-to-cell and host-to-host transmission of viruses. need to be assembled reliably efficiently, released from infected cells, survive in extracellular environment during transmission, recognize then trigger entry appropriate target disassemble an orderly manner initiation a new infection. The betaherpesvirus subfamily includes four human herpesviruses (human cytomegalovirus 6A, 6B, 7), as well viruses that basis important animal models infection immunity. Similar other herpesviruses, virions consist main parts (in order inside): genome, capsid, tegument, envelope. Betaherpesvirus genomes dsDNA range length ~145 240 kb. Virion capsids (or nucleocapsids) geometrically well-defined vessels contain one copy viral genome. tegument is collection several thousand protein RNA molecules packed into space between envelope capsid delivery immediate activity upon cellular at envelopes lipid bilayers studded with virus-encoded glycoproteins; they protect virion mediate infections. Here, we summarize mechanisms assembly, including how modifies, reprograms, hijacks, otherwise manipulates processes pathways produce components, assemble infectious virions, transport nascent transmission.
